SCH Properties, Latch-iT Self Storage's parent company, specializes in renovating facilities left untouched since the '80s, investing in the local communities and beautifying the neighborhoods it occupies. Latch-iT completes renovations without disturbing current tenants. To protect the contents of every unit, Latch-iT builds new roofing on top of pre-existing roofing. Security guards and cameras survey the units as new doors are installed.
SCH Properties entered the self-storage industry in 2005 by renovating a vacant warehouse under the brand "Your Extra Closet". Over the next 15 years, SCH Properties acquired and renovated 16 more facilities in college towns throughout the South under the Your Extra Closet brand.
Now with Latch-iT, SCH Properties brings technology and self-storage expertise to modernize an old-fashioned industry and provide a seamless experience for customers.
All our facilities use Nokē® Storage Smart Entry technology, which allows tenants to access their storage units digitally via a smartphone app. With Smart Entry, you can rent a unit easily online, never risk losing your key and can share the digital key with anyone—whenever, for any amount of time.

We are more than grateful to Latch-It Self Storage for helping our non-profit serve the needs of International Students at Southern Miss! The students arrive with only their clothes and move into totally unfurnished apartments. Our network of churches and campus ministries collect furniture and kitchen things to give to the students at Fall and Spring intake, so having storage space is crucial to our mission, and the wonderful folks at Latch-It are helping us do more than we ever could before!
